GPW GLASS
Thickness: 6mm Sheet sizes: 78" x 130"
GPW (Georgian Polished Wire) glass has served as a cost-effective solution for fire suppression in fire exit locations. Its mesh pattern, comprising thin wire embedded within the glass, ensures structural integrity even when broken by thermal stress. This type of glass is commonly used for doors, partitions, and windows in public buildings like schools, offices, and high rises, providing up to a 45-minute fire rating, depending on the size of the opening. However, it's important to note that GPW glass is not designed for impact-rated applications.
TEMPERED GLASS
Tempering is a crucial step in enhancing the strength and durability of glass, making it stronger than untreated glass of the same thickness. By subjecting glass to controlled heating and rapid cooling, internal stresses are induced, resulting in a product that can withstand greater impact and thermal stress. This process is vital in various applications, ensuring safety and reliability in diverse environments.
LAMINATED GLASS
Laminated glass is a safety glass comprising two or more glass panes bonded together with an interlayer of polyvinyl butyral (PVB) or ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) resin. It is commonly employed for non-structural components such as glass partitions, showers, elevator cabs, and more. For structural components such as glass floors, an SGP (SentryGlas®) interlayer is utilized. These interlayers enhance structural integrity and prevent the glass from shattering into sharp pieces upon impact, rendering laminated glass a favored option for diverse architectural and automotive applications.
